Press Release: Launch of the "HACEDORES" (فَعَلَة) Program to Empower Youth for Peace and Coexistence

Barcelona, Spain - The Spanish Center for Peace and Ethical Coexistence (COÉTICA) has successfully launched the "HACEDORES" (translated as فَعَلَة in Arabic) youth program, aimed at empowering the next generation to become active forces in peacebuilding, fostering coexistence, and contributing to humanitarian action. The launch took place during the inaugural session held on July 3, 2026, which saw wide participation and significant interest from young people and professionals alike.

The "HACEDORES" (فَعَلَة) program aims to equip youth with practical tools and necessary skills to design and implement real humanitarian projects, under the slogan "Learning by Doing." The program consists of three main units including six online sessions, combining theoretical lectures and practical workshops in the fields of ethical leadership, human communication, and field work methodology .

Highlights of the Inaugural Session and Speakers:

The inaugural session was moderated by Yousra Nouamani, the program's general coordinator, who emphasized that "HACEDORES" brings together participants from diverse backgrounds with a single goal: the desire to "act" and make a positive impact in their communities.

The session featured valuable interventions from prominent academic and activist figures:

•Inma Garro, Professor of Arabic Studies at the University of Alicante, spoke about European Citizenship and the Culture of Dialogue. She stressed that diversity in Spanish society represents an "opportunity, not a threat," and called for breaking stereotypes through mutual knowledge, asserting that identity is a living and hybrid process .

•Martí Olivella, a researcher and peace activist, addressed the topic of Peace and Ethics in Diversity. He focused on the "Golden Rule" common to most religions: "treat others as you would like to be treated." He also explained the concept of Non-Violence as a positive and organized action to defend rights without resorting to destruction .

•Lakhdar Hammadi, President of COÉTICA, highlighted Youth, Leadership, and Humanitarian Action. He affirmed that youth are the "present" and not just the future, showcasing historical models of young people who drove major global changes. He urged the youth to move from the role of "spectator" to that of "hacer" (maker/doer) .

Future Vision:

The session concluded by emphasizing that peace is not merely the absence of war, but the daily construction of conditions that guarantee the dignity of all. Participants were invited to prepare for the upcoming workshops that will transform these ideas into tangible projects, reflecting the commitment of the "HACEDORES" (فَعَلَة) program to fostering effective and influential youth action .
